Celebrating our County - Delhi Harvest Festival 2008
Delhi Harvest Festival is a celebration of harvest in the town of Delhi. Delhi is located off the junction
of Hwy 59 and 3. Delhi is home to a diverse ethnic population of 5,000 people, rich in Belgian, German, Hungarian
and Polish culture. Delhi Harvest Festival originated in 1970 as a way to focus on the rich history of the tobacco industry
that helped build the town and to be joyful at another close of a successful season for harvesting tobacco. With
the tobacco industry having difficulties, the Delhi Harvest Festival committee have been focusing on the other crops that
have been grown around Delhi as well as tobacco and use this time to celebrate all harvesting of the crops that help the farmer
survive and the economy grow.
